Simple and complex quantum dot systems as model systems for investigating and controlling coherence and correlation effects (2005-2013)

Summary

Quantum dot systems - in simple and complex arrangements - will be realized using high resolution semiconductor processing technology. Being designed to purpose, they will be used here in experiments as model systems for investigating, demonstrating and controlling coherence and correlation effects as they manifest themselves in electrical transport through mesoscopic quantum dots, molecules and atoms. The main focus is tailoring dynamic cooperative quantum states due the (pseudo-)spin degrees of freedom in these quantum dot systems described within the framework of Kondo physics.
